Restaurateurs to open pizzeria, brewery in Chesterfield, Virginia

Virginia-based restaurateurs Matt and Karen Verdisco will open Local Craft Pizza & Beer in Chesterfield, according to a Richmond Biz Sense report.

The pizzeria, formerly a Starbucks, will offer Neapolitan-style pizza in addition to salads, wings and more using a brick oven they own from a former pizza concept.

“We’ve been looking for another place to put a pizza restaurant and introduce a nano-brewing concept,” Karen Verdisco told the news outlet. “We held onto the oven and we’re ready to get it fired up again. We’d just been waiting for the right spot.”

The pizzeria will also house a brewing system to brew small batches of its own beer.

“We’ve been in the craft beer arena since we opened Brew, it was always something we were looking to get into,” Verdisco said. “We did it on the side, just never on this scale. We’re really excited about it.”

No date was given for the opening.
